FABRICS WERE THE UNDISPUTED STARS OF THIS COLLECTION

For the third time, the Spanish designer presented her latest Spring/Summer 2019 collection at Fashion Week Panama. Her new proposal was characterized by the use of fabrics and handmade weaves, which she defines as a true work of art. Blue, white, and sky blue were the first shades to appear on the runway, among long dresses, blouses, and skirts that evoked vacations in the world's most exclusive seaside cities. Then came pinks, turquoise, and finally gray, black, silver, and red. Metallics and sparkle also played an important role throughout the runway, with shimmering details even visible in the tweed and weaves.
The show was opened by Miss Panama Universe 2016, Keity Drennan, who modeled a long dress in a type of tweed with shimmering details, a moderately deep V-neckline that revealed a large part of the shoulders and showed the collarbone, and a leg slit that started almost at mid-thigh.

With precise cuts, this new proposal offered a looser and more comfortable feel, bringing freshness to the pieces. Fabrics were undoubtedly the undisputed stars in this collection, as affirmed by the designer, who assures that the main challenge for this new proposal was the research into the textiles she would use. Some, including the weaves seen in the final looks, were even created by hand from scratch. Tweed, which was used in many of the garments, lamé, and other silk fabrics make up the portfolio of textiles.

In the last three looks, the hand-stitched weave was more easily appreciated. The first was a high-necked, sleeveless dress with slits on both legs, with a silver skirt underneath. The second, a suit with a V-neckline at chest level; while in the last, the weave was used to create a skirt that gave the impression of being split into two pieces.

At the end of the show, the models came out in a line, then split into two to make way for the designer, who came out hand in hand with her niece. Olga Recio concluded by thanking the audience alongside Keity Drennan and Carolina Brid.
